Kim Marshall school in the nation (founded in 1639). Being an instructional leader turned out to be quite a bit more complicated than he’d imagined, but Kim eventually got the hang of it. Kim now works with a non-profit called New Leaders, holds workshops and courses across the nation, and puts together a popular weekly newsletter called The Marshall Memo, to which tens of thousands of educators subscribe.

Dr. Rankin’s Ph.D. is in Education with a specialization in School Improvement Leadership. Anne Schaefer-Salinas is a 3rd year administrator and 20+ year educator who currently works at an all-girls high school in the San Francisco Bay Area.  Anne currently serves as the Associate Principal, directing all curricular programs including educational technology.  She works hard to be a connected educator herself and to keep up with ed tech trends in order to model and lead for the faculty, students, and parents.  Anne is also passionate about integrating Design Thinking and problem-based learning (PBL) into the classroom.  To this end, she regularly presents at CUE (Computer Using Educators) and Google Apps For Education (GAFE) events working to share her message with other Administrators. When not visiting classrooms, learning about the latest Google hack, or connecting with her awesome PLN, Anne can be found watching baseball with her son, binge-watching tv with her husband, or reading at her local Starbucks, chai tea in hand.

Daryl Pearson and Nancy Madsen are the principal and vice-principal team of Jubilee Community School in Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan in Canada. Jubilee is a Pre-k through 4th grade school with around 320 students and is one of 24 schools in the Northwest School Division. Daryl and Nancy became an administration team 2 years ago and consider themselves to be leaders who strive to serve.

Dr. Judy D. White is the Superintendent for California’s Moreno Valley Unified School District, with 3,400 employees and more than 34,000 students. She has more than 35 years of experience in education. Prior to her current appointment made five years ago, she served as Deputy Superintendent for San Bernardino City Unified School District. Dr. White has been a teacher, principal, assistant superintendent for Educational Services, and deputy superintendent for Program Improvement, Curriculum/Instruction and Accountability & Research. Under her leadership, the graduation rate at Moreno Valley Unified has soared more than 20 percent, by far the greatest growth for any school district in Riverside County, and one of the biggest percentage jumps in all of California.

Dr. Spike C. Cook is currently the principal at Lakeside Middle School and the former principal of RM Bacon Elementary School, both in Millville, NJ.  He is a life-long learner who enjoys collaborating with other educators throughout the world to improve teaching and learning.

 

Spike’s first book, Connected Leadership: It’s Just a Click Away, was released by Corwin Press in the fall of 2014. This book focuses on the need to be connected and practical steps necessary to make it a reality. Spike’s second book Breaking Out Of Isolation: Becoming a Connected School Leader was released in August of 2015. Spike wrote this book with Jessica Johnson and Theresa Stager about the isolation that plagues school leaders, and how to overcome it through social media.

Mark White is in his 34th year in education. He started off as a teacher, then moved into the role of principal of Hintgen Elementary School in LaCrosse, Wisconsin, where he has served for the past 26 years. Mark has been a member and has served in many different leadership roles in the National Association of Elementary School Principals (or NAESP) since 1988 and was even elected president of that organization for the 2014-2015 school year. Mark has served as a State Representative, on the Resolutions Committee, and as a Federal Regulations Coordinator. In addition, as Director of Zone 6, he represented principals from Iowa, Michigan, and Wisconsin. Mark is also a longtime member of the Association of Winconsin School Administrators, also serving that organization as president in 2003.

Dr. Jason Glass is the Superintendent and Chief Learner of Eagle County Schools, a district of 7,000 students and 18 schools located in the central Rocky Mountains of Colorado.

Jason previously served as Iowa’s state education chief, as a consultant, and has held several district and state level roles.  He has worked in all levels of education, from early childhood to college.

Jason holds a BA in Political Science, has earned two masters degrees (one in political science and one in education), as well a Doctorate in education.

Jason lives in Eagle, Colorado with his lovely wife Sarah, who is also a teacher, and their two children.

Dr. Dan Maas has worked in education for over 20 years as a Math and Science teacher, Directory of Technology Services, Chief Information Officer, and currently as the Chief Operations Officer for Thompson School District in Colorado. He earned his BS and graduated Cum Laude from Adams State University, his MS from Nova Southeastern University and his Doctor of Education from the University of Northern Colorado. Dan has been featured in and written several publications in regard to technology and leadership.
